Painting/Free Play/Railroads

I didn't get a chance to post yesterdays adventures so I'll do it first thing this AM.  We are going to hang 3 canvases in Kinsley's room and Carson is going to paint one of them.  We hot glued wooden letters and a heart to it and then let him paint over the letters in pink.  He loved helping out and it turned out pretty good.

I read something the other day about heuristic play.  You take ordinary everyday objects and put them all together for the child to play with.  The theory is to supervise them from a distance and let them build, create, and let their imaginations run wild while playing with the various objects.

Here's our box.

And it's contents.

And here's Carson playing away.

While he played, I snapped a few pics of my sleepy labs, Moose and Mya.

Later that afternoon, we went to downtown Albany to take some pics and then went to a park to play.
