Leaves

As I raked the front yard today, I realized that I was going to have a huge pile of leaves from our Bradford pear tree.  I have been wanting to do this for a while, so I raked all the leaves into a huge pile and then me and Carson (I know that's not grammatically correct but I would never say Carson and I in everyday conversation so I won't here either) played in the pile.

Carson's Jeep

One of Carson's birthday presents was a Power Wheels Jeep, so now he can be just like daddy.  We got it on Craigslist from our pediatrician of all people.  We've had it for at least a month now, and it rained all day on his birthday so we waited until yesterday to give it to him.  Needless to say, he loves it, and his favorite part is the radio.  :)

Carson's Birthday Surprise

We got this idea from Pinterest, and Carson LOVED it!  We wanted to start a tradition for his birthday and as much as he loves balloons, this was perfect.  Staying up late, after he went to sleep we blew up about 50 helium balloons (FYI regular latex balloons only hold helium for about 5-7 hours), tied them with string, and put them in his room.  Then, using our own hot air we blew up about 25 more and taped them upside down from his ceiling.  His reaction when he first saw all the balloons was priceless.  He's still got some hanging from his ceiling and he gets excited every time he walks in his room.

2 YEARS OLD

I can't believe it, but my little man is now 2 years old!  These past 2 years have flown by faster than I ever could have imagined.  But they have been, without a doubt, the BEST 2 years of my life.  Words cannot begin to express the love I have for that little boy and the joy he has brought to our lives, so I'll just say I Love You Carson!

With that said, it's been a busy week and my last post was about a week ago.  In the past 6 days I've had Thanksgiving in Valdosta, Falon and Carson traveled to Ohio, worked the weekend, had a photo session Sunday morning, planned Falon a surprise party on Sunday afternoon, celebrated her birthday Monday, Carson's birthday yesterday, photo session tonight, work all weekend, and finally Carson's birthday party Sunday!  So I'm kinda playing catch up with my blog posts.

I'll start with some photos from last week of Carson playing in the backyard.

Earlier this week we went to the baseball field and Moose and Mya came along.

Carson's Tree/Getting Dirty

Today's post is from yesterday because I didn't have time to post it yesterday.  One of the things that I already knew, but that has really hit home for me since I started this blog is the most important thing you can give your children...YOUR TIME!!  I think we all know this but when it comes to day to day living, it's a lot harder to practice what we preach.  For example, the other day while trying to get a picture of Carson jumping in his bounce house for this blog, he kept getting upset with me.  Granted one of the reasons I started this blog was to document our time together through pictures, I realized that at that moment, he didn't care about a picture.  All he wanted was for me to give him my time and undivided attention.  So alas, I put the camera up and climbed in the bounce house where Carson proceeded to jump all over me and he was happy as could be.

Although I tend to be a perfectionist when it comes to my photos, from here on out I'm going to TRY to just snap a picture, if need be, and learn to be okay if it's too dark, or light, or blurry.  Ok, on to the pictures from last night.

I waited until after we let him see the tree for a few minutes before I took any pictures.  And I'm glad I did, because a picture wouldn't have done justice to the look that was on this kid's face when we plugged his tree in.  :)

And yesterday afternoon he had a sucker while we were outside playing, and then he decided to play in the dirt.  This is the result...

And then he chased me around trying to throw leaves on my head.
